Ohuhu Water Based Marker Review

This is an Ohuhu water based marker review for the set of 60 colors. I tested these markers to see how the colors look on paper, how they blend, and how easy they are to use for coloring pages. The set comes with lots of shades, from light to bright colors, making it easy to add layers and simple blends. I’ll show you the swatch card and what makes them different from other water based markers. At the end of the post, I also have a video so you can see exactly what these markers look like.

Are you wondering, are Ohuhu markers good? Well I used this Ohuhu set on one of these girly printable coloring pages, and it was fun to blend in some of the brown colors to color hair. Coloring with this set reminded me why I love using water based markers sometimes. They’re easy to control, and the colors feel soft and smooth.

Here’s a quick look at the set and how they can be used for coloring.

1. What You Get With The Marker Set

The Ohuhu water based marker set comes with 60 markers. 59 colors plus a clear blender. The markers come in a box with a handy handle, so you can carry them to your coloring table, a friend’s house, or even on a trip. The markers stay organized in the box, making it simple to find the colors you want without digging through a bunch of loose markers.

2. Fine Tip and Brush Tip

These markers have dual tips, and they’re one of my favorite things about this set. The fine tip (0.7–2mm) is perfect for coloring small details, adding lines, or doing doodles, while the soft brush tip (1–5mm) is great for larger areas, shading, and blending colors together. I love switching between the tips depending on the page, sometimes I’ll use the brush tip for a big background and the fine tip for tiny details. The ink flows smoothly from both tips, making it easy to get soft layers and smooth blends on your coloring pages.

3. Swatching The markers

One of my favorite parts of getting in a new marker set is that it comes with a swatch card. Swatching the markers lets you see all 59 colors and the clear blender before you start your pages, which makes picking colors so much easier. I love testing each shade on the swatch card to see how it looks on paper and how it blends with other colors. It also helps you remember your favorite shades for future coloring projects.

4. Blending The Markers

One of the best things about the Ohuhu water based markers is how easy they are to blend. You can layer colors to create soft transitions and smooth gradients, which is especially fun when coloring hair. In the video at the end of this post, I show how to use these markers to layer shades in hair, building depth and dimension.

5. Video Demo Swatching And Coloring

If you want to see these markers up close, I put together a video showing the Ohuhu water based marker set. You’ll see how the colors look on the the swatch. I also show how to layer colors in hair to create soft, smooth shading. Watching the markers can give you a better idea of how they look like and how they can be used on your own coloring pages.

6. Water Based Vs Alcohol Markers

Water based markers, like the Ohuhu set, use water in the ink. They’re great for coloring books because the ink is paper friendly and won’t scratch or peel, though very thin pages may still show a little bleed. These markers are also good for subtle shading, soft blends, and delicate layers. Alcohol markers, on the other hand, use alcohol in the ink, which makes the colors richer, brighter, and more vibrant. They blend smoothly and dry quickly, giving a polished, bold look that works well for illustrations or larger designs.

I’ve really enjoyed using this water based marker set. Playing with the 59 colors and the clear blender made me fall in love with regular markers again. And I’ll be sure to include these in upcoming videos. The swatch card made it easy to find my favorite shades. I especially loved blending colors in hair and seeing how soft and smooth it turned out. If you enjoyed this review, I’d love for you to share it so more people can try these markers and have fun coloring too!
